ABOUT THIS ALBUM

[조연호 – “노래해줘”] ‘언젠가 내가 나에게 해주고 싶었던 말, 이제는 내가 너에게 해주고 싶은 말.’ 군대를 전역했던 2018년 여름 제자리로 돌아왔음을 실감할 때쯤 문득 머릿속에 떠올랐던 말이 있습니다.

‘그동안 어떻게 지냈니?’ 밖으로 표현할 용기가 없어서 휴대폰 메모장에 적어놓고 현실에 휩쓸려 묻고 지내다 새로운 시작을 하게 된 즈음 다시 꺼내보고 한 문장으로 적어놓았던 글에 담긴 많은 감정들을 그때의 나에게, 지금의 그대들에게 들려주고 싶었습니다. "Someday, the words I wanted to say to myself... Now, they’re the words I want to say to you." In the summer of 2018, after completing my military service, I began to feel that I had finally returned to where I belonged. Around that time, a question suddenly came to mind: "How have you been?" I didn't have the courage to say it out loud, so I simply typed it into my phone’s memo app. Then, caught up in reality, I let it sit there for a long time. But when I found myself at the start of something new, I looked at it again—just that one sentence. And I realized how many feelings were tucked inside those words. Now, I want to share them—with the me of that time, and with you, right now.
